Immediate vacancy in Salem, Oregon. Position will provide technical expertise and leadership in the development, evaluation and deployment of projects related to traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). As a lead engineer in the development of ITS projects statewide, position will develop guidelines, funding proposals, provide legislative assistance and work with department staff in determining ITS needs. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required. Innovative Transportation Concepts (ITC), Inc - Senior Engineer

9/14/01 - The ideal candidate for this position would have 4 to 5 years experience in transportation engineering, a Master’s degree, and be registered as a professional engineer. Prior experience with traffic analysis and simulation programs is required. Project management, signal design, and/or travel demand modeling experience is a plus. The individual selected will primarily work on traffic and transit operation projects including multi-modal corridor studies, light rail and bus signal priority projects, value analysis studies, traffic and transit simulation analyses, and on occasion, conduct VISSIM training classes in North America. Other potential projects include: transit service planning and modeling, travel demand modeling, traffic impact assessments, and programming traffic signal controller software. The individual will likely guide and mentor junior engineering staff.
